We want as many people as possible to be able to join this conversation about the NHS. To support this, there are a variety of formats and ways to respond to the questions that meet a range of accessibility needs. An easy read for the national survey can be accessed here.
Thank you for your interest and for getting involved in the 10 Year Plan. All feedback and responses submitted on and before 14 February has now been submitted to NHS England. However, we are still listening.
By engaging with our West Yorkshire approach, the views and experiences of you and your local community can influence change to the services that you actively engage with at a local level.
If you would like to be kept up-to-date with our work on the 10-Year plan, and new opportunities to get involved, please give us your contact details here.
To help share and promote the West Yorkshire 10 Year Plan on your social media channels, please use the 10 Year Plan social media toolkit for assets and messaging.
Workshops
One of the best ways to get involved in the 10 Year Plan is to come along to one of our workshops. Patients, the public, or staff, are welcome to join and share their views and experiences.
Each workshop will focus on one of the three shifts, look at local examples, and ask about your experience, views, and ideas.
We are still listening. Keep updated on our website for when further dates are set to be released.
All views and experiences collected from these workshops will be shared across system partners to make sure we are working together in our region to improve the NHS so it is fit for the future.
Help us spread awareness of these workshops by using our 10 Year Plan workshop social media toolkit.

One of the ways you can get involved is via Reddit. We are posting on the Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford and Huddersfield subreddit each week, asking users to leave comments around the 10 Year plan shifts.
What is Reddit?
Reddit is a social media platform and online forum where users can share, discuss, and vote on content. It is organised into thousands of communities known as "subreddits," each focused on a specific topic, ranging from news and technology to hobbies and entertainment.
Users can submit posts in the form of text, links, images, or videos, and others can upvote or downvote them, determining their visibility. These posts can be commented on, which in turn can also be upvoted or downvoted.
The site operates on a mix of anonymity and community-driven governance, making it a unique space for both casual users and dedicated contributors. While Reddit is often a hub for viral content and niche interests, it also plays a role in breaking news and public discourse.
Why are we using Reddit?
Reddit differs from other social media platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram in its structure and purpose. While most social media sites focus on personal connections and curated content from friends or influencers, Reddit is built around topic-based communities rather than individual users.
Instead of a centralised feed driven by an algorithm that prioritises personal interactions, Reddit’s content is sorted by upvotes and downvotes, allowing the most popular or relevant posts within each subreddit to rise to the top. This makes it more discussion-focused and less about personal branding or self-promotion. Unlike Facebook, for example, which encourages real names, Reddit allows users to remain anonymous, leading to more open discussions and niche interests thriving.
The ICB is using Reddit as an involvement tool for the ’10 Year Plan’ engagement due to its forum-like platform, and it’s focus on driving discussion. It is preferential over other platforms, as a following is not needed to drive attention to a post. In addition, Facebook community groups would take up significantly more resources to administer, and Reddit can be overseen by people who do not have an account or following the subreddits.
The Partnership has posted on Reddit three times, over a span of three weeks, and has had more than 20,000 views and over 40 comments so far.
Ideas for change in West Yorkshire
For the 10 Year Plan to be a success, it needs to draw on the experiences, skills and ideas of patients, carers, staff and members of the public.
These could be:
- Ideas about how the NHS could change to deliver high-quality care more effectively and what works well that the NHS should do more
- Ideas about how other parts of the health and care system and other organisations in society could change to promote better health and/or improve the way health and care services work together
- Ideas about how individuals and communities could do things differently in future to improve people’s health.
