West Oak Clinic is temporarily unable to accept new referrals for ADHD and Autism assessments, including referrals where ADHD medication titration may be required.
Following discussions with NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, new ADHD and Autism assessments are paused while additional assurance activity is undertaken. Our ADHD medication pathway also remains unavailable while the Care Quality Commission registration application is being processed.
Any new referral received by West Oak Clinic for Autism and/or ADHD assessment cannot currently be accepted or progressed. This includes referrals where ADHD medication titration is requested or may be required.
For patients whose referrals have already been accepted by West Oak Clinic, they will be contacted directly to explain the current position and any next steps.
As West Oak Clinic is currently unable to accept this referral, the referring GP/SPOC is required to take the following action:
- Inform the patient that their preferred choice of West Oak Clinic is currently unavailable.
- Information about alternative Right to Choose providers is available via the West Yorkshire Health & Care Partnership website: Patient Choice (Right to Choose) :: West Yorkshire Health & Care Partnership
- Discuss suitable alternative provider options with the patient.
- Make an onward referral to a suitable alternative service in line with local referral pathways and patient choice requirements.
At the moment, we do not have a confirmed timescale for when services will resume. We are working closely with West Oak Clinic and the Care Quality Commission and will provide updates as soon as further information becomes available.
