Working with our Harrogate partners

Harrogate town centre - photo credit: Welcome to yorkshireAs it stands, the merged North Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is a part of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate and North East and North Cumbria Intergrated Care Systems (ICSs), and also Humber, Coast and Vale Sustainability Transformation Partnership (STP).

Understandably the complexities associated with being part of two Intergrated Care Systems and one STP is something the CCG wants to address sooner rather than later, especially if it is to move forward at pace with its health care ambitions for people living in North Yorkshire.

Conversations have taken place with NHS England and NHS Improvement to consider the arrangements for the North Yorkshire system, building on what has worked well over the past four years.  It has been agreed that from 1 April 2020, Harrogate and Rural District as a local area will form part of the geographical area for Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership.

Harrogate hospitalHarrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust will continue to work closely with West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership, around key programmes of work and as a full member of the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts, for example around the ‘Hospitals Working Together’, cancer and maternity programmes and other areas of work where it makes sense to the care provided for people.

We are absolutely clear that they will continue to do the right work, with the right partners, across the right geographical footprint, in the best interests of the people they serve and the staff employed; for example existing relationship with Leeds will continue because it makes sense for services and patients. The priority for Harrogate, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire leaders is to focus on delivering improved health and care for people and for us to work together to look at how best this can be achieved collectively moving forward.

Operational and financial planning and service monitoring will align to Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership from 1 April 2020.

We are absolutely clear that they will continue to do the right work, with the right partners, across the right geographical footprint, in the best interests of people we serve and the staff employed. For example; the existing relationship with Leeds will continue because it makes sense for services and patients. The priority for Harrogate, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire leaders is to focus on delivering improved health and care for their populations and for us to work together to look at how best this can be achieved collectively moving forward.

The priority is to continue to do the right work, with the right partners, across the right geographical footprint, in the best interests of the people we serve and staff.  The priority for Harrogate and North Yorkshire leaders is to focus on delivering improved health and care for their populations and for all to work together to look at how best this can be achieved collectively moving forward.
