As part of its workforce recruitment drive, on 30 September the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership Mental Health Provider Collaborative is running a free-to-attend virtual recruitment fair. Taking place entirely online, this unique day-long event will showcase a huge range of exciting careers, training and volunteer opportunities in mental health for people of all ages and backgrounds to discover.

The Fair is fully interactive, giving people the chance to talk live with recruitment managers and current postholders to find out more about working in the sector. All of our exhibitors are actively seeking applications to fill a number of job roles across West Yorkshire and Harrogate and some will be offering advice on how to apply for roles, including interview skills workshops. Advice will also be available on college and university courses, career pathways including apprenticeship routes to set people on the path to success.

Positions are available in Nursing, Care, Heath Support Worker, Peer Support Workers, Communications, management, information technology, human resources, finance, logistics, customer service and more. There will also be opportunities to find out about volunteering in the more than 15 000 voluntary and community services organisations in the Partnership.

Richard Butterfield, Head of Workforce Planning, West Yorkshire and Harrogate Mental Health Provider Collaborative said:

Since Covid, recruitment has been done virtually to differing success rates, but even in a face-to-face world, online recruitment needs to be more widespread and virtual recruitment opportunities need to be embraced, having the potential to reach out to a diverse range of potential new recruits not only across the patch, but across the country and indeed the world.

All you need to take part in our vFair is an internet connection, mobile device and an interest in mental health.  We will have lots of information and guest speakers on a range of topics in our virtual auditorium, free to join live on the day or download and watch after the event. We are excited to see how far we can reach out to people who we know will bring their talents to our workforce for the benefit of the people of West Yorkshire and Harrogate.”
