To support women especially new and expectant mothers through these changes, the NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (WY ICB) has launched the getUBetter app, providing personalised pelvic health support, including guided pelvic floor exercises.

Designed for use during and after pregnancy, the app offers easy-to-follow guidance and evidence-based information to help women maintain and improve their pelvic health, and to support recovery where symptoms are present.

Developed in partnership with clinical teams across West Yorkshire, getUBetter aims to provide trusted information and practical support throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period, helping users feel more confident and supported in managing their health.

Debi Gibson, Director of Nursing and Quality at NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board said: "By improving awareness and providing timely support, the getUBetter app aims to encourage earlier conversations about pelvic health, help prevent symptoms from developing or worsening, and empower people to seek help when needed.

“Pelvic health symptoms are common but are often undertreated. Symptoms such as bladder leakage, pelvic pain and discomfort can be difficult to talk about. Our focus is on prevention and early intervention, providing trusted, evidence-based guidance alongside support from local services."

The app includes a range of accessibility features, including multiple language options, read-aloud functionality, captions and a personalised pelvic floor exercise trainer. Users can also connect directly to local NHS and wellbeing services across West Yorkshire.

The getUBetter app is available free of charge on iOS and Android devices or can be accessed through a web browser.
