The Minuteful Kidney test – created by healthtech company Healthy.io – enables home-based urine testing, which picks up early signs of chronic kidney disease.

Since being rolled out by the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership in 2021, over 11,600 people with diabetes have used the Minuteful Kidney test. These tests taken to date have the potential to detect almost 1,500 additional cases of chronic kidney disease that would otherwise have gone undetected.

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and Hybrid closed loop

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is be available on the NHS to anyone with type 1 diabetes in West Yorkshire. Some people with type 2 diabetes may also be offered a CGM to help manage diabetes.

Children and young people will usually be offered CGM.

Decision support tool: making a decision about managing type 1 diabetes

The new decision support tool has been designed to support people to understand what is available in the NHS, providing a resource to support discussions between someone living with type 1 diabetes and their healthcare professional about appropriate steps in their care, which they are eligible for and come to a shared decision about the person’s care in managing type 1 diabetes. Communication about the Wakefield CGM implementation strategy Dec 2023
