On 25 September, over 90 people from the ICB and wider VCSE organisations gathered for a safe space conversation. The previous day, the ICB Board made their commitment to fight racism clear. It’s not enough to take a stand only when there are marches or headlines—this work needs constant attention and commitment, every single day.

In July, The Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England invited colleagues across the health and care systems in England to participate in the National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme. 141 proposals were received from teams bidding to join Wave 1 of the programme, which included three from West Yorkshire. We are pleased to confirm that all three of our bids have been approved which is great news for our health and care system.

Across West Yorkshire, NHS organisations, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, councils and voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations are working better together so health and care is more local, more joined‑up and easier to use. This approach is called Integrated Neighbourhood Health and will be key to delivering the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan for England, which sets out the shift from hospital to community, from treatment to prevention, and from analogue to digital.
