The West Yorkshire CAMHS New Care Model went live on 1st April 2018. Overall, the CAMHS New Care Model aims to reduce admissions for children and young people to inpatient mental health beds.
As we come to the end of pilot phase we are looking for an experienced clinician to act as the clinical lead for the team. This role is available as a secondment or fixed term contract for 1 -2 days per week until September 2021.

You will have experience of:
- Leading innovative projects and programmes
- Experience of working in situations where there are differences of opinion between clinical colleagues
- Working in a CAMHS clinical team (preferably within community and inpatient CAMHS settings)
- Have experience of leading a team of clinicians
- Knowledge of making decisions based on activity and finance information
- Working in an area that has effectively used feedback from young people and their carers and families
Your personal skills and knowledge will include:
- Being able to absorb significant amounts of information (both qualitative and quantitative) quickly
- Feeling confident to present to senior level colleagues including Board members
- A deep understanding of the pathways of care available to young people in West Yorkshire
- Understanding of the role of NHS England and how this will be affected by the developing Lead Provider Collaboratives
- Experience of developing co-produced pathways of care.
In the role you will be expected to:
- Lead clinical supervision for the care navigators (and over time case managers) team – more details of this team and the roles is shown below
- Act as an arbiter in cases where there is a difference of clinical opinion in relation to the care of a young person • Ensure that there is effective clinical leadership and that the clinical governance structures in the lead provider are robust
- Work with the developing Provider Collaboratives in areas such as adult forensics and adult eating disorder services
- Present high-level briefing to Board members in the Lead Provider and to the Specialist Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Programme Board
- Support the team developing the business case to move to Lead Provider Collaboratives
- Link with NHSE staff and the newly developing commissioning team to ensure that inpatient services are commissioned effectively and efficiently
- Ensure that the experience of young people is put at the heart of everything done by the team
- Engage with a wide range of inpatient and community CAMHS tams to ensure effective pathways of care.
