Update on the West Yorkshire Healthier Together website

Posted on: 27 March 2024

The West Yorkshire ICB, has recently been reviewing a sustainable operating model for West Yorkshire’s Healthier Together website, now that the digital accelerator funding to support the establishment of the project has come to an end.

The Healthier Together website is an online tool which gives consistent, accurate and trustworthy healthcare and non- healthcare related advice to parents, carers, young people, and professionals.

Healthier Together website logo.Over the last 3 years an immense amount of work has taken place to build and establish the website. We currently have 370 pages of content which have been collaboratively designed by our clinical leads, health and care professionals and service users themselves. In 2023, Healthier Together West Yorkshire was awarded a highly commended HSJ Digital Award for ‘Improving out of hospital care through digital’.

We remain committed to the sustainability of the website and the added value this brings for local communities and health and care professionals. This is reflected in the recent decision taken by the West Yorkshire ICB Children, Young People and Families Programme Board to support a sustainable model for the website.

The new operating model for Healthier Together involves further alignment with the national Healthier Together website, and utilisation of existing clinical and professional expertise across West Yorkshire for its ongoing development. Well established clinical and professional steering groups that support the governance of the website will continue to take place as the website continues to grow and evolve.

The priorities for 2024/25 include a focus on data, content creation, communications and engagement and advancing usability and connectivity across West Yorkshire.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued support for Healthier Together, and ask that you continue to share the resources with your patients, communities and staff.
