West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership shares mental health support information for winter

West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership offers a range of self-help resources online to help everyone stay as healthy as possible throughout the holiday season and beyond. This means helping people to manage their mental health and emotional wellbeing as well as their physical health.

People living in Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield can find help and support from Choose Well, provided by the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. 

Children and young people living in Wakefield can find use WF I Can, in Calderdale Open Minds and in Kirklees Thriving Kirklees.

People living in Leeds can find help and support from MindWell (for adults) and MindMate (for children and young people). 

People living in Bradford District and Craven can use Healthy Minds.

Kim Shutler, Chief Executive Officer of mental health charity The Cellar Trust, which provides its services across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven, said:

The West Yorkshire health and care system is much more than the NHS – our Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations offer a wide range of online support and resources that are available to everyone who needs them. The support available from these trusted partners can keep people well and in their own homes.”

While self-help is key to staying well, for some people, things can feel overwhelming and too difficult to cope with. Our 24/7 crisis lines are open throughout the holiday period – people living in Kirklees, Wakefield, Leeds or Calderdale can call 0800 183 0558, for Bradford District and Craven call 0800 952 1181.

NightOWLS is for every child or young person in West Yorkshire who is experiencing a mental health crisis at night. Open 8pm-8am every day. Call free 0800 1488244, text 07984 392700 (charges may apply) or online chat at www.wynightowls.org.uk . 

These are not emergency helplines and callers may find that they are directed to services that are suitable for them. In an emergency, people should call 999.
